Adding athletes, one at a time or in bulk

Creating athlete records, importing a roster from CSV, and what each athlete status actually does.

An athlete record holds date of birth, gender, status, an emergency contact and free-text notes. Athletes do not need their own login — most minors will not have one — but they can have one if you want them to see their own progress.

Importing a roster

If you are moving off a spreadsheet, use the import rather than typing. Go to Settings → Import, download the athlete template, fill it in and upload it.

Match the template's column headings exactly. The importer reads by heading, not by column position, so a renamed column is skipped silently rather than landing in the wrong field.

There are separate templates for athletes, coaches, staff and parents. Import athletes first — parent links reference athletes that already exist.

Enrolling into a sport

An athlete record on its own does not appear on any register. Enrol them into a sport, then assign them to a group within it. An athlete can be in several sports at once, which is normal for a track club.
