Linking parents and guardians to athletes

How family links work, why they matter for consent, and what a parent sees once linked.

Club adminsStaffReviewed 2 September 2026

A parent sees nothing until they are linked to an athlete. The link is many-to-many on purpose: one parent can have several children in the club, and one athlete can have two guardians in different households.

  1. Open the athlete's record.
  2. Add a guardian, choosing an existing member or inviting a new one by email.
  3. Set the relationship label, and mark one guardian as primary.
Consent is recorded on the link, not on the parent. Each guardian link stores whether consent was given, when, and against which version — that is what evidences lawful processing for a child's data under GDPR Article 8.

"I cannot see my child"

In almost every case the guardian link is missing, or the parent signed up with a different email address from the one on the link. Check the athlete's guardian list first, and compare the email exactly.
