Building your grading scheme

Turning your club's syllabus into skills athletes can be assessed against, and the four levels.

Progression is the part of Proletics that most clubs cannot get anywhere else, and it is the part worth spending an evening on rather than an afternoon.

Each sport has its own curriculum: a list of skills, each with a description, a target, a category and an order. Athletes are assessed against those skills, and their scorecard is what parents see.

The four levels

Athletes sit at one of four levels per sport: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Pro.

The four levels are fixed and cannot be renamed or extended. If your club uses named stages, map them onto these four rather than expecting to rename them — this is a known limitation.

Assessment and approval

A coach assesses a skill; the approver is recorded separately from the assessor, so a head coach can sign off work a section coach did. Promoting an athlete to the next level automatically assigns that level's skills.

Building a syllabus from scratch is slow. There is a curriculum CSV import — build it in a spreadsheet, then upload the whole thing in one go.

Progression is a Pro feature and is not available on the free Starter plan.
