Getting started

Your first week as a coach

What you will actually use, in the order you will need it, and the one thing to check before your first session.

Most of what you need is two screens: your sessions, and the register inside each one. Everything else can wait.

Before your first session

Open the app and check you can see your squad. If your dashboard is empty, you have not been assigned to a sport yet — the club admin has to do that, and it takes them a minute. Sort it out before you are standing on a track trying to take a register.

At the session

Open the session and mark each athlete. It is built for a phone at the trackside and saves as you go — you do not need to remember to submit anything, and you do not need to write it up afterwards.

Over the following weeks

  • Assess skills as athletes meet them, rather than saving it all for one session. The scorecard families see updates as you go.
  • Award badges where the club has defined them — automatic ones fire on their own, but coach-awarded ones need you.
  • Write coaching notes on individual athletes. Parents can read these, so write them as if they will.
You will not see club settings, billing, or other coaches' sports. That is by design, not a permissions problem — see the article on what coaches can see.
