Awarding a badge yourself
When to award one by hand, and why badges sometimes never appear at all.

Some badges award themselves — completing a level, hitting an attendance milestone. Those need nothing from you.
The rest are yours to give: effort, club spirit, most improved. Things a system cannot see and a coach can.
The guardian gets an email when a badge is awarded, which is often the moment a family first notices the club is using the platform properly. It is worth using deliberately rather than sparingly.
If no badge has ever appeared for anyone in the club, the catalogue is probably empty — that is a club-admin job, and “Badges that award themselves” explains it.
