Entering results after a competition

Using the results grid, and the one setting that quietly produces wrong personal bests.

CoachesStaffReviewed 5 September 2026

Use the results grid rather than opening athletes one at a time — it is built for entering a whole event in one pass.

Personal bests recalculate themselves as you enter, so there is nothing to trigger afterwards.

The thing that goes wrong

Each discipline has a direction — whether a higher or a lower number is better. If a timed event is set up as higher-is-better, every personal best it produces will be the athlete's worst result. Nothing errors. It usually surfaces weeks later when someone notices a PB going backwards.

If you have inherited a discipline someone else set up, check the direction before a meet rather than after it. A club admin can correct it.

Enter results within a few days. Families check for them after an event, and an empty Meets screen reads as though the club forgot.
