Taking card payments from families
Connecting Stripe so parents can pay in the portal, what the fee is, and what to do if payouts are not active.

With payments on, families see a Pay now button on unpaid invoices and can pay by card, PayPal, or GB bank transfer. Money goes to your club's own Stripe account, not to Proletics.
Connecting Stripe
- Go to Settings → Payments.
- Choose Set up payouts with Stripe. You will be handed to Stripe's own onboarding.
- Provide your club's details and the bank account that should receive payouts.
- You are returned to Proletics. Once Stripe confirms the account, the status shows Payouts active.
- Switch on Accept online payments.
The toggle stays disabled until Stripe reports the account as ready. That is deliberate — enabling collection before payouts work would take money you could not be paid.
What it costs
2.5% + 20p per transaction, deducted before payout. There is no monthly cost for payments, and Stripe's own processing fee comes out of our share rather than being added to yours.
If setup is incomplete
Stripe often asks for more detail — identity documents or bank verification — before it will activate an account. The status shows Setup incomplete and the same button resumes where you left off. Nothing is lost by closing the tab partway.
Online payments require invoicing to be enabled as well. Payments collect invoices; there is nothing for a parent to pay if no invoice exists.
